Completed Study

CARTWHEEL examined whether certain mental processes in children and their parents that are used to help people get things done and meet goals are related to how well a child can follow and reach their own goals to improve their health. This study used a family-based behavioral treatment for pediatric obesity. 24 sessions were held at no longer than 90 minutes. The sessions addressed changes in diet and physical activity, education on various topics of nutrition, applied physical activity and provided behavioral support from a trained interventionist for reaching goals.
